9 % in young unemployment? Compare that to the swedish numbers: 21%. This is pathetic. Young people should avoid colleges and universities. If you want an education, then go read books in the library for free. You will not find a job anyhow so why waste the money? If your country doesn´t value you, then stop value your country. Being patriotic is not a superb answer anymore.

Two years later, not much has changed. That's the sad part.

I have $88,000 in debit to pay off. I graduated in 2009. I went to a top college in Minnesota. Now I pay $950.00 per month to pay it off in a very unpleasant job. At least I have a Job. My life sucks.

They are worthless because EVERYONE can get them. Whats does that say when everyone can get a BA. They lower the standards and now everyone can go and feel like they can do ANYTHING. College is suppose to be hard and challenging. Its not about finding yourself and running around with fairy dust coming out of your ears. Yes only a few should go to college because only a few are able to handle there strenuous coursework. Sick of this feeling good about yourself crap.

Degrees are virtually worthless without experience. These days it's who you know. You need someone that can get you a job that provides you with the experience you need to move up
abstinence is 100% but I agree, if u cant keep your legs closed, birth control is a must.
Then again, they spend all this money to get an education & when they get out, they cant even use it. All the studying & for what? To struggle at a minimum wage job. Hate to break it to ya, but you could have read those books yourself & worked a minimum wage job without the college debt.
The problem is that colleges are businesses now. They went from educating ppl to making as much money as possible.

a lot of college degrees are worthless anyway. I guess they aren't worthless if you look at it terms of learning, but they're worthless as credentials in whatever field people are trying to get into. College like many other things, has now been dumbed down and turned into a scam. I mean, George W. Bush graduated from Yail, so I guess the scam has been going on for a while. That being said some careers do demand a degree, like being a doctor or an engineer. Anyone can get a degree for anything
