Illegal Immigration

This video contains images that are related to "illegal immigrants." The idea of the video was taken from the idea of black and white pictures, representing old ideas, being mixed with color photos, representing fresh and new concepts. The song that is used is by a friend of mine, Josh Funk (his current CD "The Face You Show Your Enemies" is now available on iTunes), and is called "Goodbye, Goodbye." The melancholy sound of the song was perfect for the theme of the video. We as Americans and we as people are at crossroads in our lives. Similar to the Civil Rights movement in the 1950s and 1960s, we have to show the leaders of this country that we will not stand by and allow cruelty towards human beings to exist.

Do you want them to leave? Do you realize what the economic ramification would be if they did leave? Imagine if farmers had to pay someone even minimum wage to pick their produce. It would crumble the agricultural industry, which is already barely surviving. The only way that the majority of farmers stay in business is by government subsidies. If the farmers had to pay higher wages for the same work, two effects would occur.

One they would want more money from the government, which means that you would pay more in taxes. Two they would have to charge more for produce in the U.S. The cost of food has already increased because of the rising cost in fuel to get the food to our stores. Do you really want to pay more for your food, just for the benefit of not having someone here who will do the work cheaper? Would you do what they do, at any wage?

I don't really want to say what my opinion is because then it would sway the option of those who watch the video. The point is for people to watch the video, and give the a basis to start to talk about the issue. I do have a very strong option on this issue, but I don't want to come out full steam one way or the other. This way I can continue the experiment and watch the reactions.
