Who thinks Occam's (did you misspell it that way intentionally?) Razor explains anything? It's just a principle of reason, not an explanation.

The flares that the military uses aren't the same thing you can get at the hardware store.
-
have you ever seen a plane dropped flare?....yeah a flare you shoot from a gun archs and falls...its ment to....
These flares generally have some kind of chute or drag...its night...cant see well. Your flying to a position marked with flares....if those flares fall as rapidly as everyone thinks then the position will be WAY off in a matter of seconds...they look static because of the distants...there really high up and far away...

Yes. This is spot on. Micheal Shermer is the man. Darwin's ideas about ecosystems and competition explain anything involving living things. You gotta work with nature. Idealism seems noble, but it's really kind of childish. It seems like a bit of overeach in the Skeptic community's moving toward libertarian politicization of itself, but not really. It's all ecosystems.

The military was dropping flares by my house one night, and they stayed in the sky for a LOOOONG time. I thought it was a bunch of UFO's until I learned otherwise.

Shermer and James Randi still are a very valuable asset to the public. It's just that sometimes Occum's Razor may not explain everything.
-
Only allowing praise of Shermer to be shown. Hypocrites.

Is Michael Shermer becomming a Religion to some people??
