My dog Tyra Smiling..One day she just started to smile on command every time i would speak to her, she was never miss treated or harmed.. when i took her to the vet for her check up i was told by my vet that she is being submissive as she sees me as the leader of the pack.

  • This is known as a "submissive smile" which is sometimes mistaken for aggression or fear; because the corners of the mouth are back rather than forward it is not a snarl. Smiley is telling her owner that she's knows who is the leader and that she will do what her owner wants.

  • @GlowyDaBstrd also, on 0:36 and 0:39 that guy keeps "attacking" at her with the camera.

  • Tyra looks a bit underweight?

may i ask how did you train this to her? i mean...she keeps licking her lips and on dogs language it usually means that the dog is feeling uncomfortable. she's also pressing herself on the wall which also tells me that she doesn't feel good and comfy.

@animallvr151 , i've seen smiling dogs too, but the tail wagging doesn't always mean that the dog is happy and feeling good! it can ALSO mean the dog feels fear, insecure etc, and even aggressive dogs wag their tails!

  • This is actually an example of social learning, a component of canine intelligence, as studied by Dr. Stanley Coren. The expression on the dog's face would normally be a used to indicate aggression, but the wildly wagging tail reveals that this dog is actually happy. She is a smart dog who has learned from observation that this expression means something else in humans... and receiving the reward of her owner's laughter has taught her to repeat this behavior on command! Smart doggie!

  • This is my friends dog now, Her name is smiley now. (: And everytime i go to her house she does this smile((:

  • guyg guys guys relax! she doesnt mean ugly in a bad way come on. but even if this dog is awesome!

  • Such a cute dog! I've seen a dog that "smiles" like this before, she's not scared, can't you see her tail wagging? And if she was, she would've probably attacked.

  • Acually the dog is smiling to all u people who think it's mad. It's not. My aunts dog does that all the time and he would never bite anyone so obviously that is smiling.
