These politicians are still only hinting at the bigger problem. Politicians don't not read legislation because they are slack, they don't not read legislation because they are puppets of the powers that be.
DeMint slightly hints that the US is not run as the people thinks it is run. That the struggle between the parties are merely staged and some authoritative organization runs this country.
But yet, DeMint, Ron Paul and others don't have the balls to come right out and say it.

Exactly. I also remember all of the breathless terror over the certainty that Bill Clinton was going to use the FEMA act to declare Martial law and confiscate all personal weapons.
