I wasn't saying it was numb to its environment. To elaborate, I was saying that organisms can respond to stimuli (in the case of hot water, noxious stimuli) in their environment without processing said stimuli as "pain." So no, they don't "feel" the boiling water in the way that most people are thinking when they say such thing. For example, your pupil reactively contracts in the presence of a light, but you're not "feeling" such thing happening.

I asked a simple question don't condescend to me like that.
What do you mean "not totally numb to it's environment"? The thing went into a fucking trance when she touched its tail, how does that equate to partially numb? They obviously can FEEL the boiling water, (in a different way than humans would) weather or not it's pain they're feeling is beside the point. I suggest people like you go outside and take a breather. No one is forcing you to explain this to anyone.

Define "feel". Something can lack pain receptors in the traditional sense while not being totally numb to its environment. I suggest you people actually take 5 minutes out of your day and actually educate yourselves on the topic. This gets old.
