holding a valuable gold coin like that with idiotic pink woolen gloves is like driving a ferrari wearing thongs or "flip flops". you sir are an amateur.

What's the problem with finger marks. The sovereign is a currency coin, not an investment coin - it's meant to be handled. I've licked mine :)

@GuildF40 double in price a year is a bit much mate, but gold is on the up again, good investment, stack em matey.

i,d sell it and increase your weight with normal bullion coins . your grandad would understand given whats coming

do you have other gold and silver....if yes,i'd keep, cuz its a nice coin.if its the only one you got, then pure silver and gold is better cuz you can use them to make collodial silver/gold super health drinks...and they say gold and silver bullion has no uses,it has plenty of uses, but the 1st thing ppl need to use is there frickn brains

if you want an investment you should sell it and buy silver but since it's a heirloom you may want to keep it .

Rainstorm - the 1820 Sovereign may be worth more depending on the design. Some of those are very rare - but your sister may just have the commonest one. Also depends on the condition. Big difference in price for very fine and extra fine.
Looks like it is in extra fine condition. It is a William Sovereign. Worth 1000 quid plus.
Do not sell it. If gold price doubles - the coin will also double. Why sell it? They are quite rare.
