First tests with a GoPro Hd bodyboarding Pauba, SP's north coast.
The waves were pretty average, like 2-4ft, but extremely hollow!!!
Thanks Bi for the Gath helmet apparel, simply perfect my brother!

For this debut, i've choosen to get the footage specially to see it later at slow motion, so i went for the R3 mode (1280x720, 60fps), and my first impression was veeeeeery disappointing- the tubes that on water seemed soooo deep, on the footage turns into fast slabs, no matter how deep i drove them- on the other side, the slow motion at this mode on full quality seem just UNBELIEVABLE, really trippy stuff!!!
Its a matter of choice wether you want the benefits of a 60fps with much less tube time/space (1280x720) comparing to R4...

So next time will be checking the R4 mode, expecting deeper tubes and looking forward to see the slow motion quality difference between both and then decide wich setting must be the best choice!

Wait for more on the next BlackstarPodcast!!!

  • sick! tip: rub some toothpaste on the lens before entering the water, then lick it off once in the water. Dont rub it on with finger. chur.

  • dude, what size are your vipers? large? or medium?

  • HEKTIK work on making it out of the barrel at 1:53 mad vid, props.

  • i am buying a go pro camera, and i am a bodyboarder... so i was wondering where the camera actually straps onto the board, because there does not seem like much space for it as i ride the wave,, so where does it go on? is it easy to use? and also, can you use it as a handheld camera???

  • Were is this at

  • siiiiiiiiiiick brah!

  • i wouldnt use toothpaste...its abrasive characteristics will scratch your lens. use dishwashing soap. rub a nice film on the lens with a very clean finger right before entering the water. it will rinse off as you make your way out to the surf. do not eat oily foods before you go, in fact brush your teeth before you go to surf. spit on the lens occasionally with a blowing + spitting technique while in the water, dip it, and repeat. DO NOT TOUCH THE LENS DURING YOUR SESH. you might get wax on it!!

  • boas imagens, se for gravar em R3 ou R5 aconselho que vc verifique o cartão de memoria, pois se for classe 4 perdem se um pouco a qualidade, para estas configurações tem que gravar em cartão "classe 10"...

  • wow sick footy, a stand out for me was 2:05 what a great wave and shot
