@vsabreu I am not an expert but if this piece was composed by Villa Lobos, shouldn't the interpretation based on Villa Lobos. I am not criticising your comment. If Villa Lobos composed this piece based on their music, then I would understand. Did he? However, I have followed your advice and listened to Ernesto Nazareth's works. You know, I will experiment as you have suggested. Personally, I think it will bring a little more electricity to the piece.

@mb7733
the sound was taken directly during the concert, but I agree with you: the sound in this video is not good. I think this is an audio-video decoding's error on youtube. In the original DVD video, the sound is ok!

The performance is tecnically very good, but this is not the real spirit of a Choro.
If you listen to some of the early composers like Joaquim Callado, Ernesto Nazareth and Chiquinha Gonzaga, you will notice that there's a particular swing that is missing in your performance. To play this piece properly, you must listen to many Nazareth music, mainly for the thrid part, that is a "Habanera".
But, it's very nice!
Congrats,
Vinicius

Thank you for the comment. I think that this is not a simple popular choro. What you said about the rithm is true but I tried to see inside the piece structure in all its levels. I invite you to see beyond.. I think that Villa_Lobos is not a popular composer.. He used the choro form to express somethig high. Many composers have worked in this way. Chopin, Bartòk, for example, used popular forms.. In classical music the rithm is very important but more elastic than in pop music.
