Thats a legandry video. That Porsche can do 0-60 in 4.5 and is 4x4 yet you chewed it through the bends and straight. What blade lumps fitted? I got a 918 in mine

Lovely (and funny) to watch and a great sound compared to my 2000 OHC version :( Still fun to drive though :) Congrats on your build.
Acadian Stig I seem to remember Ron Champion having something to do with an American that was setting up a build/parts dealership in the States a few years back and have seen road legal US versions.

Hey, I just looked up the location... I stayed in Hythe then in Rye while working at Dunguness.... I thought the countryside looked firmilliar!
Either way... that Locost is Amazing... I want to build one.
I was thinking about building a locost in a few years once i'm done restoring my camaro and have more space, but... one thing i can't seem to get an answer for. Can these be built so they are road legal in north america?

I believe so, certainly in some states. Have a look at Chris's website fiaccone dot com, who's built one in the US. Also search on locostbuilders dot co dot uk, as there's a few US builders on there I think.

What I find amazing is the amount of body roll the porshe has in comparison to the Locost. In the Schacane (SP?) the Porsche breakes loose while the Locost is catching it. Course we do not know the skill level of the porsche driver or the components underneath it. Still shows what you can build in your own grarage!

Pete driving the Porsche is a mate of mine, he can probably pedal a BEC as quickly as I can so there isn't a lot of difference in driving skill.

Honestly, what is the performance of these motorbiked engined kit cars like compared to the bikes the engine came from (cornering and breaking too)?

As to cornering and braking, I cant comment personally as I don't ride a bike but I'd imagine the car would be quicker. As a good comparison, the above has done a 49.9s lap around the (old) Anglesey track (Fith Gear test track) in my amateur hands on road tyres, which is a very similar time that FIfth Gear recorded for a Ducati 999 with a semi-pro rider on board, which would suggest the car is quicker in the corners / braking to compensate for the bike's speed on the straights.
