@NowKillYourself LOL your real assault rifle is probably an M4? that means when it overheats while fending off an Iranian human wave charge, and jams, you will be captured ,and from what history tells us about Persians, you will then be the gay sex toy.

is that Andy Samberg at 2:55 ?

Awesome weapon, lethal 100%,

I guess if I was a homosexual I would enjoy this type of weapon design. Unfortunately for Steyr, I'm not. So I prefer REAL assault rifles that don't look like some kinda gay sex toy.

The Steyr is Austrian not American WTF?
Logan329100 1 day ago
@Logan329100 Please read the some of the explanations below. Steyr is Austrian. This is a variant of the AUG produced by Steyr in the US for the US market with some US made parts for legality. Steyr AUGs fully produced and assembled in Austria were banned from US import like all foriegn produced "assault rifles" in 1989.

Oh and why the FUCK would you need to change the barrell in an assault rifle that runs 30 round magazines? If it was a light machine gun, then yeah.. But there is no need to switch barrells on an AR in the battlefield. They're not meant to lay down heavy suppressive fire. The barrell will cool enough in between reloading small quanity (30 round) magazines, unlike LMG's like the M249 SAW that can run up to 1,500 rounds continuous fire until you have to either change the barrell our let it cool.

@NowKillYourself I agree, the AUG looks funny, and you don't need to change barrels due to overheating on a battle rifle (especially one with a CHF barrel like the AUG), but the usefulness in the removable barrel is evident in the ease of cleaning the AUG, especially around the locking lugs and chamber, compared to DI systems like the AR platform. The removable barrel also makes the AUG easily mission configurable from the 14" entry to the 24"HBAR LMG barrel.
