This is sort of my love letter to action movies. Mostly inspired by Die Hard, Death Wish, Point Break, westerns and the Punisher comics. It's loaded with homages and references.
It's bad. Badly written (especially the beginning), badly acted, bad editing/sound, bad effects (lack of muzzle flashes, which I am working on), bad sound, it's just all-around bad. Then again, what could you expect from a school video. Gimme a break. I had to edit a half-hour action movie in a weekend. I love action movies and I wanted to live out my male fantasy of kicking ass with two fists and a bad attitude. I loved making it, that's all I cared about.
SPOILERS BELOW. But you can probably predict what happens anyway.
My only major problem with it is the ending. I wish the actual quickdraw wasn't shown from far away in one take. Looking back on it, I'd much rather have done some quick editing and made it look really fast, but still have the both of us getting shot. I also would have replaced the "goodguy checks on the downed badguy, badguy shoots at goodguy, misses, goodguy is caught off-guard and finishes him off" thing I did. I'm not sure why I did it the way I did, I watched The Departed the night before and felt inspired. I'd much rather have ended it like Death Wish 4 when Charles Bronson shoots the guy in the leg, and he catches up to him as he's crawling away and throws him the picture of his dead step-daughter. The guy says "I don't even know the girl" and Bronson points his rifle at him and says "I DO" and then finishes him off with a shot to the chest. Badass.
