Yeah, but not to worry, he'll be back. There's another alternate scene that plays out. And 'sides, you'll be seeing more of him in future chapters :).
Though, I really dislike Jihl, she's been a eyesore to Sazh, Sazh's son and Vanille. Ever since the chapter started.

personally i was glad when 7 and the other ffs came out i was getting kind of tired of having to hunt down crystals or dragonball or whatever before the bad guy did and then watch as he steals them from you in some bs way anyway. although i suppose sephiroth did that with the black materia hmmm.....
