Alias Design for Inventor 2011 Demo

Autodesk Technical Evangelist Rob Cohee demonstrates the perfect blend of both free form and parametric design with the new Alias Design for Inventor tool set. Alias Design for Inventor brings free form edge manipulation, and form symmetry into the Autodesk Inventor modeling environment. Designers will not be able to explore form uninhibited from the traditional rigors of parametric modeling, while still being able to apply the control of a parametric modeler when required.

My 0,02

1) the technology behind this modeling activity is old and well-known.. I would say not bad idea.. but it is not new

2) in your example the outer larger surface collapses in a vertex (bad quality)

3) Alias users weren't linked to "control points" of their beloved surfaces? Can you imagine how many control points you have there? Personally I do not care about control points (I just care about quality) but Alias users care, and a lot!
