My first attempt at making gumbo. I made a seafood stock a few days before, the next day prepped my veggies and herbs and the 3rd day made the actual gumbo.

I got both recipes from AllRecipes.com Here's the Seafood Stock recipe:
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Seafood-Gumbo-Stock/Detail.aspx

and the one for the actual Gumbo:
http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Big-Charlies-Gumbo/Detail.aspx?strb=1

I did add and remove a few things from the each recipe. Like I omitted the beef and pork from the gumbo, as well as the okra. I added EXTRA Gumbo File powder, as well as Cayenne, and Creole Seasoning.

For the seafood stock recipe, I pretty much kept it the same except I add about TRIPLE the amount of herbs and placed them in the pot WHOLE without removing from the stems and I used LOTS of fresh herbs as well.
