Capturing Our History is a media project of the American Indian Child Resource Center in which the youth document the rich history of the Native American Community in Oakland and the Bay Area. AICRC youth member Juliet Smalls created this piece showing the history of the Intertribal Friendship House in Oakland, CA.

  • so grateful to the many many Indians in the bay area, who keep this place alive. . Our urban rez! My uncle Marlin Ashes takes good care of the place, bro Gilbert Blacksmith has been coordinating Medicine warrirors all these years, and we are so grateful to him and Mike Bellanger of All Nations singers. . making our home, Oakland, a wonderful place for Native people to be. Thank you for doing this film :)
