Jack Lawrence is literally the man.

@LukeS54 totally agree.

@PhoenixRising235 I understand that, I was just saying that there is no need to say it's "Cher's Song" on EVERY video featuring the Raconteurs playing the song, mainly because they probably didn't really care about any relation to Cher's version because they covered Nancy's with many indescrepencies but still generally meant to relate to her version. And yes, it is beautiful and truthful the way Jack does it.

@JoshuaRFox With the exception of the simultaneously played pitches, the tempo is changed, that steadily increasing drum beat with an abrupt stop during jack's vocals. The attitude of the song is preserved of course, it's original value transcends, and nancy's is beautiful. But jack's stretch of "lie" on the last verse, while not pitch perfect, it's beautiful and truthful.

I always thought this was a perfect song for Jack White to cover. And I like how he changed "and I wore white" to "and I was White."

@BoyCary Brendan Benson, Jack White's youth friend, if you want to know it
I was watching some White Stripes videos, and I saw this video in the related videos. I had doubts on clicking it, but when I did, I'm sure I didn't regret it. Now, I can't get this song off my head.
