My friend Nate and I decided to go on a hike and visit a waterfall in Woodbridge Connecticut. It was very beautiful and we were taking pictures when all of a sudden a Connecticut Water Authority Patrol Man and Woman came and kicked us out. Why did they kick us out you ask?...Because the waterfall is only open to residents of Woodbridge CT. I was a resident of West Haven CT at the time. Being from Utah where all natural places are open to the general public this baffled me to no end. I then decided that we should make Snow Canyon State Park in Southern Utah open to everyone in the nation except those from Woodbridge CT to even things out a bit.

  • you need a permit if you contact them and pay you can get a permit,,for certain reservoirs.owned by the water company..live by the rules and you wont have that problem they could have given you a ticket for trespassing and towed your vehicle if parked on the property...

  • That wasn't even the issue. They said even with a permit we couldn't be there because we weren't residence of Woodbridge. Glad that CT has their priorities straight. "Oooo...there are some college kids looking at a waterfall! We can't have that!...What? there were three banks robbed on the same block on three different days within the same month...oh well...we need to worry about these college kids first. Bank robberies are second priority."

  • lame commentary? No such thing in Woodbridge CT -- we love all manner of commentary! but i have to say i'm surprised the RWA people can throw you off town property. if i remember my history book correctly, Sperry Falls is town-owned land, but the surrounding area is water company property. So i would say they were overstepping their authority a bit. IMHO (but again, all manner of opinion -- humble or not! -- is beloved here in Woodbridge)

  • p.s. Sperry Falls has long been a party spot for local kids, several of whom lost their lives jumping off the rocks. thats the main reason why the rwa cops are particularly suspicous there.

  • I grew up in woodbridge. I'm ashamed that the RWA "police" kicked you out just because you're not a resident. I assume you were at Sperry Falls which is one of the most sacred places in the area because of its beauty and that it was known to native americans.

  • man. i'm really no good at this video camera stuff. need a mute button for when i talk.....

i was thinking of posting this awhile ago, but was too embarrassed by my lame commentary.
