  • You guys are nuts!?

Cant hot ash fly by and melt your face off?

  • if it flies yeah it can...

but to fly it needs something underneath it that pushes it fly.

what you see is basically hot (almost melted) rocks, flowing down the volcano. the viscosity is very high, so you can see if flows very slowly

(note: I had the same concerns you have, but when I went up I noticed it was ok)

  • man that trip musta been hella good...getting so close the the lava, was it really warm?

  • thanks, hamsupzhai. the lava was hot, yes. you could not touch it. however, you could stand at 1-2 mts away from it for a while. you should also notice that this lava had a high level of viscosity. thus, it moved very slowly (I understand there other types of lava, and some are very liquid and move fast)

  • what date was this filmed ??

  • Aug 12th, 2006
