http://www.mmaringreport.com/ufc-news/87.html Joe talks about Lyoto Machida and how good he is. He also gives his thoughts on the Anderson Silva and Patrick Cote fight. Intelligent Fighters
I gotta agree with Joe on Machida. For me I find Lyoto's fights exciting because they're unpredictable at times. I mean, you never know if the dude is ever going to get hit, and he fights with a calculated plan. When he gets in an starts laying on the knees and punches he is a BEAST! You don't see that many fighters who do that, and I think it's a great way to fight.
@KOOLJDJ Dana has a youtube video of him benching 300lb and Josh was on fearfactor. Dana never combs his hair and Josh can't speak without shouting. The winner would be....
@brasilcork wow...i love dana but, joe is an eddie bravo brown belt(top of the food chain) in jiu jitsu and black belt in taekwondo..dana will go down like, my shit after a eating tacos
@PhukAdvertisements When Tyson was in his Prime Cus was dead already for a few years! Even so I don't think i would ever consider Tyson a "smart" fighter! Yea he was fast and agile. but his boxing skills were basic. PERFECT technique... but... very basic. Always slips, always to the outside, ALWAYS coming back with his opposite hand... as opposed to a real technical boxing savant like James Toney who uses 0 energy to make you look like a fool!
@Gooseman2k2 Tyson, in his prime when being trained by Cus, was actually a very smart, technical fighter... but you're right, the majority of fight fans don't care, but I'm not in the majority. I guess people just can't understand brilliant counter striking, which is absolutely ignorant on their part. The Gatti - Ward fights are actually some of my favorite fights of all time. Same with the Liddell - Couture fights. But I'd rather watch technical, defensive, counter strikers... just my opinion.
@PhukAdvertisements It's the same in EVERY combat sport! Look at boxing! Who do people think is the most exciting fighters? Arturo Gatti, Mike Tyson, Youriorkis Gamboa. People don't care about the much better, smarter, defensive fighters like Pernell Whitaker, Larry Holmes, Sergio Martinez.
