NO BUT SERIOUSLY, this game looks so amazing, it really could come out better then what people compare it to (Cave Story) which dont get me wrong i love Cave Story but i love the vivid colors and the characters personalities (who were shown in the demo). But sadly all i have is a mac so i cant even replay the demo :'( But please finish this game!!

@Awhaleable I have seen those articles they are totally fake. They were written by the Misinformation Committee who was contracted by game studio execs to add credibility to their one and only jumping off point in games after it was conclusively proven that "It was a dark and stormy night..." is completely unrealistic..

@illustriouschin i can't link stuff on youtube but just google "amnesia from head trauma". sure they play it up a notch in video games and tv and junk but it's still real man.

@Awhaleable bullcrap, it is just a plot device that they use in every single RPG ever made because they don't want to offend their fans who believe Gilligan's Island was a true story.
The part of the brain that remembers things is in the very center of the brain which means in order for it to become damaged the rest of your brain would have to be squashed into pudding which means you would be dead long before you forgot how to push the game buttons.

cave story was alright...hopefully this will be more metroidish than cavestory was (atmosphere, platforming and exploration) rather than action-based and linear like cavestory was

Believe it or not, the engine is completely original. This guy coded it from scratch. It might resemble pixel's, but it's not a hack.
Besides, Pixel actually allowed one cave story fan to make a level editor, so in all reality this guy could make a game using the 100% Cave Story engine and Pixel wouldn't mind. Pixel's nice like that. Try to understand and be a bit nicer yourself.

That's not the problem. People are being rude and assuming that this guy ripped the engine, and so assuming that he's done very little actual work. He coded the engine for the game himself. It's like taking an apple and making a realistic wax sculpture based on it. It's SUPPOSED to look similar, because it's a tribute. Although that's not the best example, because unlike Underside, a wax apple won't taste nearly as good as the original. ;)
