"Green Earrings" by Steely Dan off of their Royal Scam album.
I received a request to post some cover tunes so I agreed as long as the first one could be a Steely Dan song! :-) This is one of my favorite songs from what is easily my favorite band. I haven't played for several days and I had a few spare moments so I decided to throw this vid together. As with any of my covers, I am not concerned with copying the original part note for note. I'm just having fun and playing the song "my way". I'm still messing around with the mix as I'm trying to get good coverage of the original drum track and this is my first "cover tune".

@digga2k6 Thanks digga2k6! I love your S.D. "Top 40" songs countdown vid! That's so cool. I bow down to the "master" Bernard Purdie so I was probably sticking my neck out to even attempt this song. It's a tough song to play but the groove just kills me so I had to give it a shot! Pretzel Logic is a great song too. I haven't played it in many, many years but I'll see if I can throw it together. Heck, "I'd love to tour the southland" one more time! Lol!

Thanks SDK! Purdie played this tune. He said the recording sessions with Becker and Fagan were pretty intense! I usually venture off a little bit and kind of play my own take to the Dan songs but I try to stay relatively true to the original. What can you say about S.D.! Personally I think Keith Carlock has one of the greatest jobs in the world! : -)
