@wildmanjeff42 You should probably not "Think" publicly. We are losing ground on gun rights and your ignorance does nothing but feed the fear. Anyone who is not prohibited from owning a firearm can make a firearm for PERSONAL USE (SBR's and SBS's, as well as suppressors require a tax stamp and automatic require an SOT and prior BATFE approval) But a standard rifle (like in this case) requires no license, permit, or BATFE notification.

Nice and way different.

I'm not sure if you have enough material to do this on the outter walls of the current hole. But i would consider pluging the hole, weld it in, and remachine it in the correct position

@wildmanjeff42 it is legal to manufacture your own firearm with no serial however when you go to transfer you need a serial number, name, place of manufacture (no license required.). All this information can be found with a little research.

AMAZING!!! to bad it didn't turn out the way you wanted, but thumbs up for doing it. Please keep us posted on your new projects.
BTW I just finished my first 80% lower and it was so fun doing it

@ccemtpkram I am not looking for advice. I am stating I think it is not legal. I don't think there is a provision to make firearms for personal use. I really think you have to have a manufacturing license even to make one for personal use, otherwise everyone with a milling machine can make lowers and "give" to their friends and bypass laws requiring serial numbered lower receivers.
I was stating that anyone intrested should make ABSOLUTELY sure before risking their gun rights.

@wildmanjeff42 Do yourself a favor and don't seek legal advice in the comments section of youtube. It's legal. Stop fear mongering. Educate yourself via the documents provided on the ATF website. Call an ATF investigator at your local ATF office for information or contacts not available on their website.
have you tried using a block with threads on both the inside and outside to screw into the larger hole and give you the correct threads?

@sw20matt That would work. Unfortunately, I found a few other errors in the code that can't be fixed. They are all fixed now (verified by the plastic lower) so I hope to do another aluminum version soon.

are you SURE that it is legal to make a working firearm-- if so what paperwork did you fill out for the BATF? you are creating a serialized controlled firearm-- I know there are manufacturing versions of FFL. If you a FFL manufacturing license is required and someone sees a non-legit lower reciever ie pulled over , police search of your home for some reason, your days owning a single firearm could be over.
If legal go for it not many Milled Lowers out there at a decent price

@wildmanjeff42 One thing I never screw around with is gun laws. It is 100% legal for me to make a firearm for my personal use. The BATFE doesn't have a say in what I make for me as long as it isn't NFA. If I were to start a business making guns for others, that's a whole 'nother ball game.
