Some atheists don't believe in anything, those are the more "moderate" ones, while some atheists are excessively against religion, and illogically believe in the ABSENCE of gods and afterlives, so some atheists haven't QUITE got the point when it comes to beliefs, and that's who I was referring to. Sure, it's DIFFERENT from believing in gods or afterlives, but believing in their absence is still bullshit.

atheists doesnt believe in ANYTHING without proof. there is no atheists who believes in something bla bla bla. get it in your fucking head. you claim atheists "sometimes" believe in some fucking bullshit afterlife and some bearded man in the sky or fucking zeus or an elf living under your house.

at that time someone believes in those, they are not atheists.

Prayer.

An illusion, perpetrated by those of true faith as a tool to help, or as a deliberate attempt to hinder our progress. Giving false hope to the unfortunate and the feeling of making a difference to those who actually empathize with them.

Either way, it's a genius contraption. It's like a swiss army knife for the powerful.

Throughout the ages, I wonder how many people it has stopped from helping others. Maybe a million, maybe none. It is though, by no stretch of the imagination, a placebo

I won't claim that the religious mind is apathetic, I honestly believe that they do care for their fellow man, it's in our nature after all; we're a cooperative species.

But what keeps such a large portion of the faithful from helping those less fortunate, and what do all the middle-eastern religions have in common?
