@DreamsCumTrue469 My darling, i know everything about this opera. And as about Bubbles (1935) - he wasn't able to sing triples and Gershwin himself was rehearsing the part with him. And i've heard near 30 different versions of the aria. And i know what i'm talking about. Don't forget that this is opera! Not musical. So the voice must be from the opera singer (not like Bubbles was). And besides Sporting life must be sung by an artist, a true actor of the freaky life.

@Akimych lol, you clearly know nothing about Sporting Life if you think this guy or Damon Evans are anywhere near being the best ever. Do you know who originated the role in 1935? Plenty have played the role in the 50 years BEFORE Evans ever played it. Duh? Common sense requires that you learn about the full history of something, instead of just a partial history before you start claiming who is the best ever. Just cause he's the best you have seen doesn't make him the best ever

"Porgy and Bess" is verisimo for Americans. Mascagni wrote about Italy's peasant class; Gershwin wrote about America's.

Mr Craig is an insult to every person who call themselves an artist. His ego is out of hand, and his lack of theatre etiquette is appalling. His version of Sportin Life is over the top "Step and Fechit" kind of acting. He might as well do with it with a piece of Fried Chicken and watermelon in one hand. In acting we call this "mugging" .

Great voice! But could he at least have saved the coonery for the show? A little over the top I think.. especially in a concert format.. but hey, tomato, tomahto... I wonder if he does any big tenor stuff.. that voice on Puccini would be nice! :)

Gorgeous, Lawrence...!it will be a great privilege to sing with you this 8 and 9 agost at the U. de Chile theater...your really sweet and you've got a great talent...
It has been lots of controversy about this "black" opera written by "whites".
This gorgeous performance transcends the controversy and gives this song an african american soul and universal show-stopper quality!! God, do I enjoy this!!
