Bloody Women: From Gothic to Horror at Birds Eye View Film Festival 2011

Bloody Women: From Gothic to Horror is part of the Birds Eye View Film Festival 2011.

Bloody Women slashes stereotypes to uncover women's contributions to horror, from gothic drama to vampire chic. The programme includes seminal silents by women pioneering the genre, recent classic horror movies made by women, a programme of cutting-edge horror shorts by emerging women filmmakers, and a panel discussion on women's role in the genre. The season is presented in association with Film4 FrightFest.

Birds Eye View 2011 celebrates women filmmakers from 8 - 17 March at BFI Southbank, Southbank Centre, the ICA and various venues across London, including a Sound & Silents gala feat Imogen Heap, Tara Busch, Micachu and Seaming at Southbank Centre on March 11th.
