Ireland was the last of the True Celtic cultures,with a music,poesy etc which
is unique and desirable.
Irelands scholars began the early universities in Europe.
Those who are from the north and protestant have no doubt contributed much to Ireland in practical terms ,but little to the imagination and to what makes Ireland unique.
