Life after riding centre of the road. Rider passed his, DSA Direct Access in November 2008. First ride in front after short debrief. First time in front wth intercoms, having done a ride in front and then followed me. Weaker areas of ride discussed at debrief.

  • I passed my DAS in November and I have found these vids invaluable. I ride and do my own commentary (I may be mad) to myself in the way Advanced does - I find this really helps me concentrate - a useful tool.

  • Anything that keeps the mind thinkignand aware of the riding environment you are travelling. Keep it up..

    Thanks for the feedback

    Regards

    Nigel

  • I had my assessed ride with Cov &Warks IAM last Friday - no surprise - average throughout, which is pleasing as I can now do a lot of learning the Advanced way.

  • Well done, keep me posted

  • I wear a caberg flip helmet and am sure drivers can see me talking to myself - who cares?? Power on the curve...I like it I like it

  • "But I have to be careful not to turn the client into a robot of myself. "

I cannot see that being a bad thing to happen. :-)

  • Much the same as TREVORSDAD I too have the phrases running in my head when out on my own. 'Plan for the left', 'lose the view.....', etc. Once again, brilliant video and commentary. Hope the throat improves sir,

  • I smile to myself - every time I say "power on the curve"

  • Two way comms would be very unsafe, I reckon

  • I always wonder when I do this commentary, is it instruction......The likes of IAM and RoSPA, seem to frown on it. Intercoms, don't use them. I like them as I can work in a semi controlled environment. But I have to be careful not to turn the client into a robot of myself. I have found a fair few clients look at the Youtube clips and are familiar with my teaching methods and don't object to the commentary. Next step is two way comms so they can talk back to me. It does work well.
