i remember from a Princess Mononoke featurette thing, someone commentated about how Miyazaki's films were too big to be found in reality, but also, simultaneously, the characters, behaviors, emotions, everything else...was just so precisely human. human meaning imperfectly perfect. thank you so much, Miyazaki and especially Hisaishi. you're my heroes<3

@Mrjmaxted0291 That's the magic in his work. Creating fantasy worlds, but with very real and human characters. That's the key to any great story really; that element of realism, and flawed characters that aren't always perfect, which make the story believable and relatable to everyone. And of course there's Hisaishi's fantastic scores which help elevate Miyazaki's films from great, to classic.

@oedipusrexsophocles for me there were only 2 great (maybe the greatest) anime creators. Its Hayao Miyazaki and Katsuhiro Otomo (akira, Spriggan, Memories, Steamboy)
