Thanks for your comment. Yes it is rather fast than the usual execution but because there is no voice to accompany it sounds a little mournfull if I play it slowly.

My harpsichord professor used to say that the melancolic mood of Purcell's music suits me perfectly:-)

Indeed!It is just an aria for a musical delight. Aristocrats and wealthy people of the Restoration era were also amateur musicians in the majority. As a result the demand for music -not always very easy-was vast.
