what kills me is that I hear this "FIXED Income" mumbo jumbo. Fixed income doesnt mean one is broke. Atleast when you got fixed income, you know what you can count on everymonth. I know people who are living on minimum wage, getting 20 hrs one week, 10 hrs the next, 8 hrs the next, and maybe 15 the next, yet people whine and cry about a steady income. even if youre on a Salary, ur on a "Fixed income" . Only time ur not is when u work hr or on Commission or get overtime!

@NinaLuvsFriedChicken Yes, mental and physical health are both deemed as "disability". A lot of the people DLA serves have mental health conditions, and not just temporary depressions - the coalition is trying to remove DLA as is, and the replacement won't be relevant for many of us on it; they are trying to stop or reduce the DLA direct financial aspect and just provide aids and applications. That's fine for people who need walking aids, but won't much help the mentally-affected, I'll bet.

@Lisabonelady You can't tell a person's hardships and conditions by looking at their body sizes. Else you would assume most mentally ill and physically ill people to be "well". Your sort only identifies "disabled" people as amputees and those with obvious conditions. Your breed are the true "sickness" in society - ignorant, judgemental, compassion-devoid and cold-spirited. Your resentment toward another human for their disability is abhorrent. You should feel lucky to be able to work!

Great point! My fiancee helps pensioners claim benefits that they are entitled to but not claiming but is constantly frustrated at the fact that disabled people below retirement age cannot claim.
