Oxfam campaigners and a group of 'lifesavers' turned up to a meeting of the International Maritime Organization to let delegates know that they could save lives by taking a critical role in tackling climate change. As delegates were presented with 'Be a Lifesaver' logbooks they were asked to use the meeting to put in place fair measures to address emissions from shipping.

Oxfam is calling for the IMO to consider measures to reduce uncapped and rising shipping emissions, while at the same time raising more than $10 billion per year in new climate cash through the auctioning of emission permits.
