Considered to be one of the fastest and most challenging of all piano rags ever written, this "novelty" piano solo was composed in 1923 by the legendary "Zez" Confrey (who also wrote the famous "Kitten on the Keys") ~ this showpiece of virtuosity has been championed by such greats as Benny Goodman, Liberace, Dick Hyman, and now ... world renowned Ragtime pianist, Aaron Robinson.

  • @kfspiano ... No, it is not a recording of a midi file. This is an actual recorded performance by pianist Aaron Robinson from his 1992 CD recording "Ragtime" ~ it was performed on one of the very first Yamaha Clavinova CLP 123's ~ long before midi files were common and used ~ Look up his album: "Ragtime" on Amazon and iTunes ...

  • I wonder how many people who play this piece end up with carpel tunnel syndrome. It is equal to a month of data entry.

  • I had to do this for a piano exam. I don't think it's meant to be played as fast as this though. But whoever played this actually needs a medal. That's some practising!

  • @cathiepops It is. It's meant to be played Presto, which is one stop short of prestissimo. Meaning it should be played almost as fast as you possibly can, barely holding back.

  • This is great! I love the chorus :)

  • is this an audio of a midi?

  • excellent camera work, keeping up with the music!!!! and excellent piano, best version i have heard.

  • How on earth do you play that middle melody ? you need a third hand? I don't see it in the notes either?

  • The actual playing is harder than the score! Should be the other way round lol

  • This is just brilliant! Thank you for uploading
