This is nothing but propaganda, a desperate attempt to discredit Korea because Japanese nationalists are afraid of Korea's encroaching economic caliber. Imperial Japan claims it was forming a "Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere", but in fact Japanese expansionism was an exact copy of Western expansionism, but with greater brutality and no self-doubt.

To say that Japan is solely responsible for Korea's current economic prowess is arrogant. His justification for annexation is clearly from a nationalist standpoint. Much of Korea's economic growth was subordinate to Japanese interests. Korea's resources namely agriculture were overwhelmingly flowed into Japan. Korean land was partitioned to Japanese owners. The Japanese were exploitative and oppressive, creating ministries dedicating to rewriting Korea's rich history and eradicating our culture.
