240g of thermite burning through a piece of steel. Lit with potassium permanganate and glycerine.
(spews molten iron about 5-10 feet in every direction after it drops through the pot)

  • Well the permanganate and glycerine used in this video were from a chemical supplier, however, I am fairly certain that glycerine can be bought easily and potassium permanganate can be bought from a number of hardware stores as a reagent for minimizing slag for welding (I believe). Many Ace hardware stores and generally any store that has welding equipment might carry it.

  • U can go blind if you weren't wearing a welders mask. So please don't keep doing this if your not protected. Just tyring warn ya. :)

  • u can try and use those rome candles (the sparky things) to put thermite on fire

  • where did u get the potassium permanganate and glycerine
