240g of thermite burning through a piece of steel. Lit with potassium permanganate and glycerine.
(spews molten iron about 5-10 feet in every direction after it drops through the pot)

Well the permanganate and glycerine used in this video were from a chemical supplier, however, I am fairly certain that glycerine can be bought easily and potassium permanganate can be bought from a number of hardware stores as a reagent for minimizing slag for welding (I believe). Many Ace hardware stores and generally any store that has welding equipment might carry it.
