Solon Simmons, Assistant Professor at the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution at George Mason University, responding to Obama's speech to a joint session of Congress on February 24th, 2009. Simmons puts the speech in historical context, relating the communication styles of recent presidents and talks about the oscillation from the private interest to a public purpose, which has made Republican lawmakers nervous.
