On April 8, 2011, I performed for the first time at my school's annual Talent Show. It was a small event, but it still meant a lot to me. That night was one of the most nervous nights I've ever had to endure, yet at the same time, I had a great time during the entire performance. I did begin to tire a little towards the end, and, if you couldn't already tell, I was quite out of breathe when Poker Face ended. I realize I'm not the best singer, nor am I the best dancer, and there were quite a few faults and mistakes, but all-in-all, I think it went fairly well for a first-time performance.

I decided to go through with this performance to show someone very special to me how much I love them. It sound a little cliché, I know, but it's true.

Poker Face was meant to say to everyone in the crowd, everyone at school, everyone watching the performance: "You can think whatever you want, but I DON'T love you, nor do I find you physically or emotionally attractive, because my heart belongs to someone else." That's not to say that I hate everybody; actually, that couldn't be further from the truth. I love everybody as a brother* or, more commonly, a sister*. I just wanted all the people that may (or may not) have a 'thing' for me to realize that I'm in love with someone else.

Bad Romance was meant for this special person I keep mentioning. I wanted to say that even though many other people feel that we shouldn't be together, and that even though I've been told more times than I can count that things will never work out, I still love you. Even after all this time, I still love you. I haven't given up hope yet, and I never will. That's what happens when you're in love. ♥

*These terms aren't specifically or necessarily tied to the Christian belief of loving your neighbor as a brother or a sister. I truly just used these two terms mainly for the lack of better word choices.

I apologize for the somewhat poor quality video. It was one of the best I could get my hands on, but I realize it's far from outstanding. Again, my apologies.

Please tell me what you think and in what areas I need to improve. One thing though: please only provide constructive criticism. If you completely hate the performance, then fine; by all means, hate it as much as you'd like. But please try not to be so rude about it. Everyone has their own opinions, and I completely, 100% understand that. The key is in how well and polite one conveys that dislike. If you do hate it, please tell me WHY you hate it, and how I can fix future performances so that you and others WON'T hate it. Again, in a civil and non-rude manner please. Thank you!
