This is a great one. I was at this show and had a blast. Both the Allmans and Panic tore it up. I thought it was kinda messed up that they brought out Johnny Neel for Big Wooly because he's blind and can't see the lighters being thrown at him! I think the best one is from Chicago - 5/8/97. Mikey sounds great and his solo at the end might be one his best. Also, the best with George was when they first brought it back 12/31/03 for the encore and everyone was crying. George nailed it there too.
...first started playing in the 80s. That's how Panic got their name, from Mikey getting Panic attacks. So, Mikey said he would never go onstage unless it was with JB back then because JB made him feel more confidant. So, you could think that he is saying thank you to JB for being by his side when he's feeling "pulled in," or "flying by" and JB is always there to save him from feeling that way. How aboutn that folks!?! Ever thought of that!?! I'm just kidding of course. Its for his wife.
hey StrawberryFields1421, this song was written by Michael "Mikey" Houser. Panic's original guitarist who past away from pancreatic cancer 8/10/02 at the young age of 40. It's well accepted that he wrote this song, like most of the songs he wrote (Airplane, Walkin', Postcard, etc.), is dedicated to his wife. BUT if you listen to all the lyrics at dismiss the "women and children first" line in the last verse, you might think he wrote it for JB. Mikey used to get Panic attactks when they...
I cant give you much history besides that they do it a lot, they do an accoustic version of it, and this is the best one ive heard(not accoustic but best vacation)
