Please do not use sharp metal pincers to drive out the tarantula. You may hurt it. A thin long stick will do the job.

@marylandman12 Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. For what it's worth, two common hypotheses for the female's cannibalism are a bigger chance of impregnation and the female's own starvation.
