The conclusion to my game with trich on ICC. The game ended in a draw which I am happy with. There was not room for a win from my play which lay on the border of lame and mediocrity. Every game has lesson to teach though and this one has to do with rook endings. Keep your rooks active and even a pawn or two of deficit cannot keep you from a draw.

  • you could have won that at the end surely! any mint players out there wanna comment? or what does fritz say?

  • according to my fritz 10 the game was equal the entire time, slightly better for black in some places. The only chance I had at a win was instead of 51 Kb6 i should have played 51 Ka6! Rg5 52 b6 Rxg2 53 b7+ where i would be getting a queen. after that it was pretty much a draw. at the end my pawn is one rank too far otherwise I might be able to convert it into lucina. but at the end its classic philidor
