I personally havn't done much pvp other than at cons. Played a SW game where the pcs were premade & it was told, what to do. My pc basically needed to kill most of the other characters, other than 1. So I did, by largely coning them into killed each other. Then at the con was a vamp larp, I pvped some there, killed 1 pc. I've had a lot of games I've run where there was pvp. Both in Ravenloft, Vampire & the Pentex game I ran, seen several of my players kill other players. some good/some not.

Interesting videos. I'll subscribe.

I think all characters should have their own agenda, but their paths are fairly parallel. To paraphrase Raistlin "We are merely walking the same path for a while."
(Sorry about the innacuracy - it's been a while.)
The idea of a group of strangers walking into a bar, latching onto each other like a bunch of billy no-mate mutual stalkers and never leaving each other's sides, quite frankly creepy.
I've met people like that. Trust me it's wrong.

A lot of good advice in this vid, one thing I do disagree with though is the point about clerics. If the party's alignment isn't evil then the game by rights should tend towards a more co-operative effort. Four core classes are in there for a reason, if one character isn't fulfilling their role in the majority, then it inhibits the group's chance of experiencing more of what the D.M has to offer. Keep us these videos

maybe cuss storylines and experiences don't have to be about life and death can be about such simple things as dialogs between characters, interaction, and even conflict, don't have to mean violence.

or just play with people who can keep their characters (in game) knowledge and their own knowledge seperate and use what they them selves know to actually feed their roleplaying and teh experience over all. a good well told storlyline come sbefor any individual character, and when everyone gets that thenhopefully there's no madjor issues and hard feelings. basicly, common sense, act according to your character and remember these people are friends, communication is a tool, use it.
The best thing to do with the 'note' thing is to have a pile of notes that say:
"This is a red herring note. You are NOT allowed to tell any other player what was written on this note, even in non-game time.
Wait for a randomly determined time and write on a note "All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy" or write your own personal note and hand it back to the DM.
If DMs and players keep doing this there is no way of telling which notes are the dodgy ones.

I find any note passing is viewed with suspion by other players, a good way around it is to give everyone a note at the same time with most of them saying "do not show this note to anyone else but nothing has happened." That works better, constant note passing can get tiresome.
