Pictures of summer, winter, spring, fall all from the shores of or next to Birch Lake. The South Kiwishiwi River which comes out of the BWCA dumps into Birch Lake. The fuzzy distant shot of a wolf was taken from about 300 yards away on the lake in the winter. The Song is Jesse Collin Young's "Ridge Top"

  • Very nice. Is this the same birch lake that is close to the Windigo Logde?

  • @1rk234 ,,, no, it is about 30miles from the Canadian Border in northeastern Mn. the South Kiwishiwi River flows from the BWCA and into this Birch, as you can imagine there are several Birch Lakes in the U.S.A

  • I've never seen Minnesota..I appreciate the beautiful pics, and I totally have loved Jesse Colin Young for years and years...Ridgetop being an all time fave. Songs that were great then and remain great now become our classic. Your film and Jesse are classics..thanks for sharing your creativity and Jesse's awesome talent.

  • He truly made an incredible song with this. The pics are taken on Birch Lake [yes on Birch Lake as it freezes up to 3 feet thick in the winter] The colorful sunrise was completely untouched. Birch Lake receives much of it's water from the BWCA [Boundary Water Canoe Area] via the South Kiwishiwi River. Birch Lake is 20 miles long. Great fishing and camping with very little development.
