Another repaired SW77 that suffered from "bad" capacitors. Apparently the flow solder technique was too hot and caused the seals on the SMD caps to fail early causing the radio to become "dead" on receive. This was a random fault and varied from radio to radio in the SW series, also happened to many other consumer electronics. Leaking electrolyte from the capacitors caused damage to the circuit boards. * Not the same as the "BAD CAP" problem found in so many electronics of the early 2000s! * The SW77 is a great receiver and well worth the repair! If you have one of these SONY, SW77, SW55, ICF2010, receivers and are in need of repair, contact me by messaging here at poikaa3
Hello, I am looking for a short wave but do not know where to begin. I'm looking for one that can run "off the grid" if the power is cut for a long time and maybe a second portable one.
Any advice? Thank you
