  • A strong AT is a rare thing. Good on those who keep the working abilities in them. Fine work done here.

  • Airedales were used in WW1 and WW2 to run the trenches and pass messages to the frontline. Also, they were used in Germany as police dogs.

  • @10majfar

It is not cruel or illegal . Airedals are ment to do Cops work . As the other dogs thes days. It mint help you to read a Airedale book .

  • I have a Airedale and I raed that Airedales help ww1 and ww2 and cops use them to . In ww1and ww2 Airedales are use in the feled to send notes to people . When other dogs sent notes if they got hurt when they ran they will yep and bark and they will die . But when the Airedale will run to the person if they get hurt . they will keep on running

  • Would it be cruel or illegal to train a dog to attack the jugular?

  • Most Airedales were used as 'Anti Tank' dogs...meaning they were Suicide bombers.

They trained them to go to tanks for food and starved them. When they got to a German tank they exploded.

See Youtube Videos Anti Tank Dogs Russia and watch actual footage. Its very sad. Nothing glamerous.

German Sheps were used much more for guarding, sniper & bomb detection, and on the battle front.

  • @BreezieStroke Did you know that the Airedale breed was used to safe people and send messages in the World Wars. Also it was used as one of the first official breed of dog for the police. It was like the predecessor to the German Shepard. You can look it up on wikipedia.

Thanks for viewing and for the comments.

  • Hey BreezieStroke, Thanks for the comments. You can see more of this dog if you click on the markbf link. We're not LEOs in the vid but some of us do train LE. The training organization shown is called PSA {Protection Sport Assoc}. Although it's a sport, there are LE officers and LE dogs who compete in it.

You're correct, a properly bred Airedale can make a great service dog. Many were used in the World Wars and they were one of two of the very first police breeds used.
