Sorry for the late response. Time line was 3 weeks. Saying good boy, petting him, and giving him treats are all positive reinforcement. In fact, I don't know if you could get a better example of a situation using positive reinforcement. In general, treating dangerously aggressive dogs would require more than positive reinforcement alone. that was not a muzzle on the dog--it was a snoot loop (very similar to a gentle leader), Meat was used as a reward

@lacemonitor181 hey its been months since my dog was aggressive but I finally know how to fix them, just dont go near them, touch them, once they used to eating by ur side then u can start touching him but never take away his food unless its an emergency and when u do take his food away, give him a treat

i can't find any reply for this but this is bullshit, it should only take a day or 2, once they know how is the real pack leader :(

My dog gets food aggresive nd what i dont understand is she is perfecty sweet about everything else i can pick up her paws take tys open her mouth touch her tail and she does not bat an eye so WHY does she growl at me over food?

Who else wants to kick that dog across the room?

@PaulAndMuttley Look up "Sophia Yin aggression JRT when blowing in face." This dog is completely cured from aggression using nothing but treats.

My dog is perfectly fine with food when humans approach, but when dogs are around, it's a whole different story. She snarls and bites other dogs when she's eating or if she knows I have food in my hand. She has never been aggressive with people, however.
What should I do? Thanks:)

I have a question. My golden retriever is really aggressive to the point where I've been bitten before and almost got bitten again a couple days ago. When he eats and I get close, he growls and wrinkles his nose at me. He'll also turn around and look up at me and wrinkle his nose while growling for about 30 secs to a minute. He acts like if I make any sudden movements he is going to pounce on me. I really don't have the money to pay for a personal trainer. Should I go out and buy him a muzzle?
