How many other comparable survival instructors offer in depth (FREE) videos on youtube? Dave could go to a company like Gerber, or buck and probably get a licensed cheaply produced knife or tool if he really tried. Instead he promotes a knife that he believes in, that he uses based on what specifications he really wants in a bushcrafting tool. yeah its expensive, but i've also heard him say nice things about competitors and other options out there. Pretty classy in my opinion.

Hi Dave. As a smoker I always carry a tobaco, rolling papers, lighter of course. I also tend to carry some coffee. My qestion is if you know some other purposes to these things, especialy coffee. Maybe some medicinal or helpfull with controling proceses in body temperature etc. Thans a lot, best lessons out there.

@polemicvs ....Thank you for the info...Looking forward to the Trade Knife's introduction. I now carry a Vietnam era AF Pilot's knife and it is about time to retire it, although it has served me well. Take care and stay well Brother....

Listen folks, you get what you pay for, there are cheaper options, some of them are good ones, But your Knife is one of your KEY items in your possessions, this has been true of many Aboriginal Cultures. I would say the two most expensive (quality) items in your pack should probably be your knife, and your footwear. In my humble experience when those two elements of my gear are top quality, everything else falls into place a lot easier and the rest is usually cheap anyway.

@MaretRoy That's the Habilis Trapper for 179.00 you've seen at the PF store. The Habilis Trade Knife isn't listed just yet. Dave will no doubt make a video when it's available. I'm waiting for it too brother!

Is that a Bearcat Scanner in the background? :)

If you have not already done so, check out the Mora Bushcraft Survival with firesteel & diamond sharpener.

Hi Dave....I really appreciate the very informative videos you are putting out. Is the knife on your website the same as the one in this video ? I notice it is listed for $179 and not the $100 range as mentioned in the video. Seems like the Pathfinder II would be the better option at $160.....a little less money and a heavier blade. Suggestions / comments ??? Thank You.
I agree with most, but not how you run down the Mora knife. I have a vintage Frost Mora knife that I have been abusing for 30 years, and it has never failed me. At it's price point, the Mora is the best knife for the money

@johnmonk66 I dont run down Mora brother heck I sell them on my web site, I just dont think they are a good ONE tool option due to the rat tail tang. They are a great quality knife for cheap for sure.
