ELEVEN
Brody slows to a stop in front of the Frontier Airlines terminal.

"You owe me big time for driving you here," he sits back and hisses at me.
"Oh shut up, like you wanted to go to that yoga class with Cassidy," I reply peering out the window.
"I did! Seeing her bend forward and back...it would have been a lovely sight," he chuckles.
"You pervert," I roll my eyes.
"I don't understand why Kennedy couldn't get a ride home from someone else," Brody complains.
"It's called being a good friend," I reply.
"Who goes away for two weeks with their cousins and not parents?" he wonders.
"Her parents trust her, too bad you can't do the same for me," I eye him.
"Teenagers need limits and while mom and dad are away I intend to provide those limits," he states profoundly.
"Get that from a parenting magazine?" I retort, still keeping an eye out for Kennedy.
"What time is her flight supposed to land in LAX anyway?" Brody throws his head back.
"KENNEDY!" I shrill out rushing out of the car and into the humid airport environment.
"KATRINA!" she exclaims right back dropping her luggage to give me a big hug.
"I have so much to tell you!" I explain taking one of her Coach luggage and hoisting it into the back of Brody's car.
"Same here!" she laughs thrusting her other luggage into the trunk as well.
"Kennedy, it's been so long," Brody sighs blandly as we both plop into the back seat.
"Hey Brody," Kennedy giggles.

The ride to Kennedy's house is filled with laughing over vacation pictures with Kennedy and constant eye rolls from Brody.

"Don't need a ride to get home by the way," I inform Brody as we arrive at Kennedy's place.
"Wouldn't come by if you asked," Brody smiles sarcastically before driving away.
"You two have the weirdest sibling relationship ever," Kennedy laughs dragging her luggage to the front steps.
"Most of my relationships are weird," I sigh as her front door swings open.
"Uh oh, Aaron issues?" she asks me throwing her bags aside.
"Where is everyone?" I counter her question with another.
"Family reunion? Yea, not so big on hugging relatives that I barely know from Indiana," she shrugs motioning me to come into her room.
"Interesting...," I laugh following her and setting myself down on her pearl colored futon.
"So...trouble in paradise?" she inquires, unzipping her luggage.
"Well, yes...but no," I shrug.
"Which means?" she eyes me.
"We have great chemistry, we have an amazing connection!" I inform her.
"Connection...or a CONNECTION?" she puts an emphasis as she reveals a sly smile.
"Kennedy, me and him bond emotionally and intellectually, we don't need to get physical," I explain as she furrows her eyebrows.
"So what you're saying is your flame is burning out because you never get the chance to take off your clothes and hug each other?" she states bluntly.
"NO! Well maybe some action here and there, but the point is, it's like there's some barricade in between preventing us from clicking like any other couple out there," I let out a sigh.
"Why do you think that is?" she sits on her bed, cross-legged.
"I don't know...maybe I'm just distracted. Ever since Stephen got banned from my house-," Kennedy stops me.
"Hold up, banned? Did his hotness set off the smoke alarm or something?" she laughs.
"No," I crack a grin," Brody sent him off because Stephen was a little too interested in me."
"Interested you say?" her eyes widen.
"I don't know," I shrug," But I feel sort of guilty."
"So you miss him? Kat, you've been through this situation before remember? Xavier."
"I know okay! Xavier...he-he-took advantage of me," I choke out, having a sudden flashback. When he invited me to his cool older people party at some hotel and when he gave me funny tasting soda, and the rest was a blur.
"KAT!" Kennedy taps my shoulder to take me back into reality.
"Sorry...," I murmur, my mind still stuck on Xavier.
"Xavier did more than take advantage of you...he sexually assaulted you," and thus the truth has come out again, this is the first in awhile someone has actually mentioned it.
"I know that...," I mumble, my face turning red," But I don't think Stephen is like that!"
"Xavier didn't seem like that either did he? But he did what he did, and I'm scared that you'll be put into that same position again," Kennedy explains.

I know. I know what Xavier did. And I know how stupid I was. But that's all in the past. Stephen seems genuinely nice and I want to give him the benefit of the doubt. But I'm scared. I'm scared that if I befriend Stephen, he'll someday take me to a cool older people party then I'll drink some funny tasting soda. Then the rest will be a blur.
