I wanted to let you know that the emergency food is not bad, and you should always once in a while eat it so that you understand what you have to eat to survive in case of an emergency. MREs are better than the food bars that you have. :)

Great video! Thank you for sharing! Here are some other suggestions to add: tarps (4x6) are perfect, water resistant blanket, extra clothing and shoes (1 change per person), along with extra socks, firestarters (easily and cheaply made at home and can be used as candles as well), a tin can(put a candle in it for a quick, emergency heat source), rope and fishing line. I also have a jar of peanut butter (for extra protein.) Also, you MUST have pictures of family/friends-for motivation and sanity!

every time I go to walmart I pick up one of those 79 cent gallon waters. I put them on a shelf and rotate the stock cause it says the expire in a year, how I have no idea but they do. I put the oldest in the fridge for my drinking water cause the tap sucks.I always have 8 or 10 extra. I also have several bags of mre food. and they taste like ass. I also have a 20 oz black powder, never know when you'll needto make somebombs. walmart discounts it at the end of hunting season, good thing to have

@cougarbahia Many commercially produced survival kits come with water packages. These particular waters are lifeboat rations the same kind they use on ships.

Great Job! My suggestions are:
-MRE's
-Rope
-Spare clothing
-And even though you have lighters and matches around your house and in your pockets, I would still put them in there.

Good point.
Since this is a kit for around the house, I don't have any real amount of food or water in it, because I already have that on hand. Same with the clothing, but I need to add some sturdy rope.
