or as a pet itself the snake would just like a dead meal ... my rabbit prefers rabbit pellots to grass, although clover gets eaten, so i guess it's the hampster-smell

nice idea, but the pheromones thing doesnt really work because i feed my snake (same species as in the video) dead mice all the time and he never refuses to feed. unless of course the fear pheromones are still lingering on the mouse from when it was killed but i really doubt that.

Okay...Wanna know whats REALLY up?? (I am a Herp-Head..(I own and have worked with many reptiles) In order for the snake to want to eat it, the mouse(or hamster in this case) was not putting off 'fear' pheramones..The snake, who smells it prey with its tongue, needs to smell the fear, to whet its appetite...Or? as you say...The temp was probably too low, hence, the snake wasnt hungry, as reptiles need heat to become hungry (They cant digest anything without it..)
Or? They know eachother well..
