This is after the first full week of having the Stick. I incorrectly called it week 2 in the video. It's journal 2, week 1.

The beginning of the week was spent making my fingers hit the strings at the frets where I wanted them to with both hands.
I then did a great exercise of taking some staff notation of 2 songs in a piano book and converting them to Staff Tab (tm) notation. I'm looking forward to doing this more as it's really helping me identify note positions on the fretboard.
Finally I decided to take on a friend's challenge to me. Let's see how it goes!

I'm wearing the sweatshirt hood because I was cold, and then when I took it off my hair... Well, let's just say it's better with the hood up.

  • Do you play any other instruments?

  • My complete music learning history is: When I was young (ages 7-9 or so) I took violin and clarinet lessons. In college I tried to self-teach guitar and I could play some chords and some simple songs... But that's it. I'm pretty much a blank slate. :)

  • I just stumbled upon your journal..that's a great idea to document.

    So how's it going?

  • Glad to see you're doing these. It will help me gauge how long it will take me to learn some basic techniques on this instrument when I finally get one.
